Below follows the Worker’s Memorial Day statement from Unite the Union:
Worker’s Memorial Day commemorates, the hardship and loss that previous generations of workers have endured to make our workplaces a safer environment. This year’s rallies to the call of “Organising for Health and Safety – a crucial part of union action”.
The Government has said that it “in no way condones, and in fact strongly condemns” the involvement of Andrew Tate in a private event at St Michael’s Cave, which “was not communicated at any time.” The Government says it is taking this up with the private event organisers and “will bear this breach of trust in mind” should they apply to hold any future events.
The GSD says it notes and welcomes the news, as advertised through a specialist publication, that the Gibraltar Government is finally inviting tenders for what is described as the ‘Gibraltar Development Plan 2023’. The tender is advertised with a contract price of £250,000.
