The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
The Government of Gibraltar says it is “extremely disappointed" by announcement by the MoD that Gibraltar International Airport will have an early closure of Air Traffic Control due to lack of staff.
The GSD says it notes with concern the news that the airfield will close later today due to staff issues. The party says that it is “simply not acceptable”, at a time when Gibraltar should be seeking to improve its economy, with flight connectivity playing a central part in this effort, that flights should experience cancellation in this way.
