The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
A 28-year old local man was this morning sentenced to seven years in prison after stabbing his friend in a violent daytime attack. Anthony Da Palma Costa approached the victim outside MRW Couriers in Cornwall’s Centre stabbing him repeatedly in broad daylight with a weapon that was never discovered but which, according to medical experts, might have been a screwdriver. In total, Da Palma Costa inflicted five stab wounds, one of which was considered life threatening.
During a selection of Addresses to the European Parliament this month, on the state of the EU, European Commission President Barroso has arranged to host an online question and answer session with EU citizens. Questions were posted to the Commission under the hashtag #askbarroso and were processed by European news channel, Euronews. The fourth address on the matter will be delivered tomorrow.
Officers of the Royal Gibraltar Police Drug Squad have arrested and charged two local men for a number of drugs offences.
At 4.30pm on Monday the 9th of September intercepted a vehicle at Europa Road and arrested the two men within for drugs offences. Both were subsequently charged as follows:
