The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
The Governor Sir James Dutton is pleased to announce that upon the recommendation of David Lidington, the Minister for Europe, Fabian Picardo, the Chief Minister has been advanced to the rank of Queen’s Counsel. This appointment is in the nature of an honorary award and is in recognition of his distinguished role as an advocate for Gibraltar both internationally and domestically, and his commitment to the rule of law.

The Minister for Education, Gilbert Licudi QC, is this week visiting Seychelles for discussions related to the establishment of the University of Gibraltar. Seychelles is a small jurisdiction which recently established their own university. Their programmes are run mostly in conjunction with major educational institutions such as the University of London.
