The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
The Spanish Minister for Agriculture Miguel Arias Cañete has insisted that his Government is doing their best to preserve the marine ecosystem within the bay. Europa Sur has stated that Sr. Cañete has filed a complaint with Department of the Environment. He told the newspaper that the Gibraltar Government’s creation of an artificial reef, using concrete blocks is a ‘human invasion’ and could be a environmental crime.
A letter published by the UK newspaper the Daily Telegraph has suggested that the diplomatic deadlock between Britain and Spain over Gibraltar might be dissolved by adopting the “pragmatic” option of leasing the territory to Britain like China did with Hong Kong.
The GSD has this afternoon joined the Government and the rest of Gibraltar in conveying its deepest condolences to Kyle’s family during what is undoubtedly a very trying and difficult time for them.
