The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
The Minister for Europe, David Lidington, will visit Gibraltar on Monday 30 June and Tuesday 1 July. The visit will enable the Minister to visit the Gibraltar-Spain border to witness first-hand the continuing delays at the crossing, to hold discussions with the Government and meet a wide range of people.
HMS Somerset arrives in Gibraltar this weekend on her way back home to Devonport following a six-month operational deployment East of Suez.
Yesterday was a day for celebration for the warship when she celebrated 20 years of service. To mark the event the ship created a number 20 at sea to capture a magnificent image.
The Gibraltar Museum recently hosted a visit of board members and major donors of the Leakey Foundation. Founded in 1968, it provides grants to many of the world’s major studies of human prehistory and encourages the funding of ground-breaking research. The Foundation is the only U.S. funding organization wholly committed to human origins research. Among its distinguished recipients have been Jane Goodall and Dian Fossey.
