The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”

Twenty year-old Kevagn Lopez appeared in the Supreme Court today where he pleaded guilty to the offences of Possession with Intent to Supply a Controlled Class A Drug, Possession of a Controlled Class A Drug and Possession of a Class B Drug. He was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment.
On the advice of the Judicial Service Commission, His Excellency the Governor, Vice Admiral Sir David Steel, has approved the appointment of Professor Matthew Charles Edmund Happold as Puisne Judge of the Supreme Court for a fixed term of three years. It is anticipated that he will take up office on 1 August 2024.
