The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
With another year brings another edition of the Strait Games. The 2014 initiative, to be held in Gibraltar, was officially launched by His Worship the Mayor Adolfo Canepa yesterday afternoon at a presentation also attended by the Mayor of San Roque and the Vice Consejero of Ceuta.
The annual conference of the European Association of Airport and Seaport Police (EAASP) was held in Dubrovnik Croatia between 28th -30th April 2014.
The conference was opened by the EAASP President, RGP Commissioner Eddie Yome, and heard from presentations on current themes by speakers from a cross section of the air and maritime law enforcement and security industry.
The GSD notes the Government’s announcement that it has opened an office in Hong Kong. They have claimed that the announcement raises many questions including whether a post was advertised for the representative of the office?
They go on to ask, ‘were there any other applicants? What remuneration and any other perks is the appointee receiving? Why is he described as a representative and a director? What is he expected to be a director of? What staff, if any, is he going to have? What experience and/or qualifications does the successful appointee have which will enable him to access the Chinese market?’
