The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
Gibraltar’s current situation has been highlighted in a blog that aims to spread awareness of the situation in Catalonia, and their pursuit to freedom from the rest of Spain. Following yesterday’s protest by the Spanish Fishermen, Leader of the Opposition Daniel Feetham has congratulated the RGP, GDP, Royal Navy Squadron and Customs, as well as all others involved in managing the demonstration.
He added, ‘these were difficult circumstances and yet they were dealt with in the best traditions of British policing namely in a calm, safe, dignified but effective manner.’
Minister for Financial Services Announces the Employment of Two Further Senior Executives to develop the Financial Services Sector
HM Government of Gibraltar is delighted to announce that two further senior executives have been engaged to promote Gibraltar's Financial Services sector. Victor Galliano will be based at Gibraltar House in London working on the continued promotion of Gibraltar in the United Kingdom within the Financial Services industry, and Philip Canessa will be based in Gibraltar working exclusively with the promotion of Funds and Investment Services. Both Messrs Galliano and Canessa have extensive experience and expertise in their respective areas. The appointments are a further indication of the commitment of this Government to the Sector, and to making the investment necessary to properly equip the Finance Centre team with the resources they require and which the Industry has been calling for over the past years.
