The board of the Chamber of Commerce has given the go-ahead to commission a follow up study on the Economic Impact of Gibraltar on the Campo de Gibraltar.

The Gibraltar Maritime Administration (GMA) has been admitted onto the prestigious United States Coast Guard’s ‘Quality Shipping in the 21st Century Programme’ (QUALSHIP 21) – a reflection of the standards of excellence it has achieved. Gibraltar was invited to apply as a result of the Port State Control records of locally- registered vessels in US ports.
The Defenders of Gibraltar fully support the recent initiative expressed by a number of members of the general public during discussions regarding sending a 'powerful, peaceful and unequivocal message' highlighting the strength of Gibraltarian unity.
A statement released by the pressure group notes, ‘the initiative itself is for people in Gibraltar to fly the Gibraltar flag, Union Jack flag or Union Jack defaced with castle and key flag from their houses, windows, balconies and even shop windows. Indeed anywhere where a flag can be hung, flown or displayed, we urge people to do exactly that.
