The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
Saturday 24th August saw the annual Cardboard Boat Race at Ocean Village. A great turn out, with numerous boats ready to prove their sea worthiness by taking on the challenge.
There was a kids race and then the adult main event, which saw a fair few vessels reclaimed by the sea. Check out the video for yourself.
A loggerhead turtle was found today by local diver Ian Gadd as he was free diving in the area of Europa reef. The turtle appeared to be disorientated and in some distress and appeared to have sustained minor injuries due to nets.
The Convent is aware of the unlawful incursion into BGTW by Guardia Civil divers in and around the recently created North West Artificial Reef System, a reef created by HMGoG in compliance with EU legislation and international conventions.
Reports in Spanish newspaper El Pais that Her Majesty's Government of Gibraltar has agreed to bilateral or quadrilateral talks are entirely wrong. The position of the Government has not changed. It remains exactly as set out in its Press Release 606 of 2013, a copy of which is attached.
