The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
The Government of Gibraltar has published a Bill for an Act to establish the University of Gibraltar. The main features of the Act will be the creation of the University as a statutory body and provisions for its governance. The Act will specifically refer to and safeguard the institutional autonomy of the University as well as its academic freedom.
Following the transfer of Housing to New Harbours, the department will retain a presence in the centre of town in order to assist those Government tenants who wish to pay in cash to do so. On Monday 16th February, as originally intended, a dedicated Housing counter for the collection of housing rents from Government tenants will open at the Post Office in Main Street.
