The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
The Government has said it is surprised by the statements of the Opposition on a Bill to exempt a small part of the Casino from the provisions of the Smoke- Free Environment Act when after 16 years in Government the GSD “wholly failed to introduce any measures to control or prevent smoking in any premises in Gibraltar, and consequently permitted smoking in all establishments in Gibraltar including of course the entirety of the Casino.”
The Government has said that it regrets the recent statement from the Heritage Trust that ex-MOD quarters in the south district are being bought by millionaires from abroad and are demolished with modern mansions built in their place because it has the potential to “mislead the public.”
