The Gibraltar Electricity Authority has announced that the No 3 generating set that was damaged during the Easter Sunday fire at Waterport Power Station are due to be completed tomorrow.
On completion of these repairs, the engine will be tested and commissioned over the next few days. It is likely that the generating set will emit smoke as these tests are carried out.
Local pressure group, Gibraltar’s New Movement, has gained the backing of the Government for their petition requesting that Her Majesty the Queen returns to Gibraltar. The petition was kicked off following the Chief Minister’s National Day speech urging Gibraltarians to call for a return of Her Majesty, who last visited 60 years ago.
