As a result of increased Customs checks, aimed at the detection of fireworks purchased in Spain, Customs officers have made two separate seizures of illegal fireworks in the lead-up to the Christmas period.
Fireworks are a restricted import under the Imports and Exports Act and it is an offence to import them without a licence.
Naresh Ramchandani and Kevin Tewkesbury presented a cheque for £7,500 to St. Martin’s Special School earlier this week. The money will go towards a special piece of playground equipment for the children.

A number of vehicles including 12 vehicles from UNICEF and six ambulances from Partners in Health will be loaded onto the ship along with provisions for both herself and RFA ARGUS who also recently used the Forward Mounting Base facilities at HM Naval Base Gibraltar before heading out to Sierra Leone.
