The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
The Government says it has filed a complaint with the Director General of OLAF, the European Union's Anti-Fraud Office, in relation to the conduct of Mr Joaquin Gonzalez-Herrero, who is an OLAF adviser in one of the investigative Directorates of that organisation.
During his visit, which included a tour around the new frontier implementations on the Gibraltar side, by No.6 Principal Secretary Caine Sanchez, he met with current Chief Minister Gilbert Licudi. The principal aim for his trip, however, follows a question the Earl tabled to new European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker regarding free movement in the EU, which the Earl claims Mr. Juncker believes is an ‘absolutely fundamental tenant of the EU’. ‘But there doesn’t seem to be free movement, or sufficient free movement between Gibraltar and Spain…’ the Earl insisted.
Gibraltar Paintballing Association will be opening its new paintballing facility ‘Europa Paintball’ at Lathbury Barracks on Tuesday 19th August at 10am. Minister for Sport, Culture, Heritage & Youth Steven Linares will be present to officially open and inaugurate the premises; Mr Reagan Lima CEO (Designate) GSLA will also be present along with members from Gibraltar Paintballing Association who will be running the Europa Paintball.
