The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
The Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia this afternoon participated in a meeting of the Contact Group between the EU Committee of the Regions (CoR) and the UK. The meeting opened as the European Council (ECOFIN) authorised the start of negotiations between the UK and the EU on the future relationship of Gibraltar with the European Union.
The GSD says it notes the approval by the European Council of the EU’s Mandate on Gibraltar. This will allow the negotiations on a possible Treaty for a future relationship with Gibraltar to commence.
