The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
At about 10:25 this morning and acting on information received, the RGP Marine Section accompanied by GDP and HM Customs, deployed to an area approximately one mile south of Europa Point where they intercepted a 3.5 metre RHIB carrying eight Moroccan males. The males were taken to the RGP Marine Base where they were checked by paramedics and arrested on suspicion of being Non Gibraltarians in Gibraltar without any valid permit or certificates. They were then taken to New Mole House.
The Minister for Business, Vijay Daryanani, has met with the BID task force to discuss the ballot procedure and how things will progress if there is a “Yes” vote for the BID.
A Spanish national has been sentenced to 2 years and 7 months imprisonment by the Supreme Court this morning after an operation in which RGP officers were supported by officers from HM Customs.
