Britain’s biggest warship, the helicopter carrier and assault ship HMS Ocean will visit Gibraltar this weekend to top up on fuel and supplies.
Ahead of this weekend’s flagship Clean Up the World movement, in keeping with the environmental theme, students of all Gibraltar schools were invited to RAF Gibraltar for an insight into this year’s topical environmental issues; electric and hybrid vehicles and Foreign Object Debris on Gibraltar’s Runway.
A new web portal in Gibraltar will prove incredibly useful for monitoring temperatures and weather changes around the Rock’s multiple micro climates. The website, developed and launched by the Government’s Department of the Environment, can be found at www.gibmetportal.gi. The network correlates climate-relevant data monitoring wind speed and direction, temperature, rainfall, solar intensity and barometric pressure at a number of varied sites around Gibraltar.
