The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
Following reports of tampering and damage having been caused to Natwest ATM (cash tills) on Wednesday and Thursday last week, the RGP mounted an operation resulting in the arrest of Lulian Ciocan, born 23.04.1984, a Rumanian national residing in La Linea, Spain.
The Government has confirmed that this year’s fair will again be held on the old Naval Grounds. The Government also claims that the Opposition “has no compunction in causing uncertainty by spreading the rumour” that this year’s fair might be moved away from the Naval Grounds.
The Gibraltar Tourist Board (GTB) will be participating in this year’s edition of the ‘Routes Europe’ forum which takes place in Marseille, France between 6th-8thApril.
On the 2nd April, officers from the Metropolitan Police Service in London travelled to Gibraltar and took possession of an 8 metre Astec Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) fitted with twin Suzuki 225hp outboard engines and spare Johnson 225hp outboard engine and Suzuki 225hp outboard engines. These were donated by the RGP free of charge to the Balham and Tooting Community Association.
