The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
With Spanish officials yesterday being told by the EU Commission that charging individuals to pass through the Gibraltar – Spain frontier would be illegal, the Foreign Ministry has today claimed that the Government’s proposal for a toll tax on users of a particular transport network in areas of high demand and traffic congestion is completely within European standards.

Equality Rights Group in partnership with Plymouth & South West England Friends of Gibraltar Group have today announced the launch of ‘Thumbs Up for Gibraltar’, a campaign aimed, in its first stages, at generating public support throughout the SW of England by calling on David Cameron to award the George Cross to the People of Gibraltar.
Following a call made by UK Prime Minister David Cameron to EU Commission President Barroso regarding the on-going dispute between Gibraltar and Spain, the UK Government has stated that Mr. Cameron made clear that he would prefer to resolve the issue through political dialogue.
Mr. Cameron and Foreign Secretary William Hague once again spoke to the Spanish counterparts to ‘try to find a way to de-escalate the issue’. Mr. Cameron insisted that dispute their efforts, frontier delays continue, leaving the Government no choice but to consider legal action.
