Gibraltar Crime Report for 6th - 8th February 2015
From the hour of 07:00 on the 6th February, to 07:00 on the 8th February, the following occurred:
Arrests:
1 person arrested for the offence of driving whilst over the prescribed limit of alcohol, possession of a commercial quantity of tobacco, possession of a bladed article and obstructing police.
1 person arrested for the offence of threats to kill and assault.
1 Person arrested for Importation of a Prohibited Import, Dangerous Navigation, Obstructing Police & Resisting Police.
1 Person arrested for Importation of a Prohibited Import, Obstructing Police & Resisting Police.
1 Person arrested for Importation of a Prohibited Import, Obstructing Police, Resisting Police & Non-Gibraltarian Unlawfully Landing in Gibraltar without a Valid Permit or Certificate.
1 Person arrested for Arson.
1 Person arrested for Obstructing Police.
The Opposition says that the announcement last week in Parliament that the shares formerly held by the Slovenian entity in Gibtelecom had been purchased by the Gibraltar Savings Bank “raises important questions which directly relate to the concerns raised by the Opposition in relation to the state of our public finances.”
Two men who were on trial this week charged with attempted robbery were found not guilty by a jury at the Supreme Court this afternoon.
The Chief Minister said he was completely satisfied that the Dr Giraldi Inquiry Report had dealt with every allegation of mismanagement and abuse in an “exhaustive and determinative” manner. The final cost of the Inquiry has just been revealed as totalling £2,642,453.
