The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
The Government says it has received a proposal from the Cross Frontier Group for the creation of a European Group for Territorial Cooperation. The Government is favourably studying the proposal and the implications of the application for the creation of such a body.
The RGP can confirm that at about 1300hrs on Friday 23rd January 2015, a local woman in her late twenties was arrested on suspicion of Cruelty to Children, namely her two young children, both aged under 10 years.
At about 1815hrs last Friday, at Sir Herbert Miles Road in the vicinity of the Caleta Palace Hotel, officers of the RGP’s Drug Squad arrested Ernest Ullger of Schomberg, a 46 year-old British national, following a high-speed car chase which had started minutes before at Laguna Estate. Officers had initially attempted to stop Ullger after he had been seen acting suspiciously within his vehicle.
