The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
The Chamber of Commerce has issued its reaction to this year’s Budget. The Chamber argues that there is no commitment to rein in spending or cut out waste and improve civil service efficiency “despite millions spent on e-government.” It also says that the increase in income tax “and other stealth taxes” will be used to fund future government expenditure adding that the Covid recovery charge is “ill-thought through and affects smaller businesses disproportionately.”
The Ministry of Transport has announced the re-launch of ‘Pedal Ready (Gibraltar)’ as part of the GSLA 2022 summer programme. The Pedal Ready initiative aims to promote safe and responsible cycling in Gibraltar, in line with the recommendations of the Sustainable Traffic, Transport and Parking Plan (STTPP).

The coming months of July and August will see, as per every year, a change in daily routines for most families in Gibraltar. These two summer months are a longish period of time when children are not in schools and, therefore, families – inclusive of their extended family members – make different plans with each catering for their own individual circumstances.
