In an address to the European Policy Centre (EPC) in Brussels yesterday evening, the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia declared that Spain ‘cannot be allowed to hold the whole of Europe to ransom in pursuit of her narrow political interests over Gibraltar’.
With a mantra of offering audit, tax and advisory services to their clients, KPMG Gibraltar yesterday hosted another of their consistently well-attended events. The ‘Tax and Audit Update’ aimed to inform clients and relevant firms on tax updates relating to announcements made in the UK Autumn 2014 Statement that will come into place this month, freshly implemented reforms in Spanish tax measures and recent developments in cases relating to tax matters between Gibraltar and the EU.
This year marks four years since the Instituto Cervantes opened its cultural centre in Gibraltar. Its winter programme of cultural events, which has just been released, will include lectures, films, tastings, book presentations and other activities.
