The Royal Gibraltar Police says it is pleased with the findings of HMIC's report, and believes that this is a testament to the efforts of every single officer and civil service support staff member who has “contributed positively towards its ongoing journey of continuous improvement, something that was also recognised earlier this year through the award of the prestigious Investors in People Gold standard.”
The Government says it has already indicated that it has no difficulty in working together with the Opposition on matters relating to the potential withdrawal of the United Kingdom and Gibraltar from the European Union.
Gibraltar’s Commander of British Forces these past two years, Commodore Ian McGhie, is retiring from the post later this week. He’ll be replaced by Commodore Mike Walliker.
The Gibraltar Police Federation strongly condemns the recent inaccurate statements made in the Spanish media, and by the Spanish Foreign Ministry accusing members of the Royal Gibraltar Police Marine Section of “dangerous and irresponsible navigation”.
