The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).
The Gibraltar Multiple Sclerosis Society (GMSS) had a "Wear Orange for MS Day" to celebrate World MS Day 2015 in May. The society says it would like to thank all those individuals and companies who joined in with the event and helped collect some funds for its future premises as well as helping to raise awareness of MS in the process.
- Government committed to increasing mid-town parking
The Government says it is both “ironic and revealing” that the GSD has chosen the lead-up to the Fair, to voice concerns and suggestions regarding parking in town rather than submit them during the public consultation period of the Sustainable Traffic Transport and Parking Plan (STTPP). It is evident, says Number Six, that the Opposition are “simply seeking to capitalise on the temporary parking difficulties that Gibraltar has always experienced during Fair week in an attempt to score cheap political points for their short-sighted ideas.” The Government also reminds Mr Figueras that he has already stated that the GSD would not do away with the STTPP if elected into Government.
