Jun 20 HM Customs and RGP arrest
A 33 year old local man was arrested in a joint interdiction by officers of the Royal Gibraltar Police and HM Customs on Sunday evening. The man had driven across the Land Frontier in a locally registered car shortly after 8p.m. and had been challenged by officers of HM Customs; he then attempted to leave the area in his car at speed, driving into a Customs Officer in the process of leaving the HM Customs precinct.
A pursuit by HM Customs ensued and the man was stopped by Officers of the Royal Gibraltar Police and HM Customs in theWaterport area.
Fortunately, no serious physical injury resulted from the incident and the officer is recovering.
HM Customs are continuing to investigate the matter.
The thirty three year old has been released on bail to surrender in August.
