Below follows a joint statement on the progress of the EU-UK Agreement in respect of Gibraltar:
European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo met in Brussels on Friday 12 April.
The GSD has said that Mr. Picardo “continues to hide behind smokescreens in order to deflect criticism over the reckless way” in which has he managed the public finances in the last five years. The party adds that the Chief Minister’s position has been neither “consistent nor coherent.”
The Government of Gibraltar will donate €8,000 to our sister city of Funchal, Madeira, to assist in the city’s recovery and future protection capacities following the fires it suffered in August this year.
Two men have been charged following an incident in the early hours of yesterday at Casemates Square, after uniformed response team officers responded to reports of a person brandishing a knife and behaving in a disorderly manner and acting aggressively towards people in the area.
