With the Champagne Party well underway at Ocean Village, the crowds are on the increase. The First Princess, Kerrianne Massetti, has been spotted helping out with the distribution of champagne, an opportunity that few mariners have turned down! The sun is blazing and things just keep getting hotter down here. Those trying to shelter from the sun are finding themselves congregating in the shade alongside the YGTV team as we report from the Jubilee Flotilla celebrations on The Island at Ocean Village. YGTV met up with Super Intendent Ian McGrail about how the Diamond Jubilee flotilla has gone down in Ocean Village.
It’s 3:00pm and the VIPs are starting to arrive for the Champagne Party. Government Ministers, all those involved with the Flotilla, the crews and their families, are all congregating at Ocean Village to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Everyone is smiling; satisfied with a good day’s sailing and now it is clearly time to enjoy some social time in the sun. The finale to a wonderful day and a well-organised event to rival the Thames Flotilla is happening right now down at Ocean Village, and, as ever, YGTV are here live keeping you updated online with everything as it happens.
YGTV had the good fortune of bumping in to Kerry Massetti, Miss Gibraltar 2012 1st Princess, here supporting the Flotilla event and having a great time by the looks of things.
First Princess, Kerrianne Massetti, has just arrived at Ocean Village to show her support for the Diamond Jubilee Flotilla. She informs YGTV that she has been pursuing the Flotilla around Gibraltar by car, capturing glimpses from Waterport and Europa Point, from where, she says, the views were spectacular.
Kerrianne took the time to speak to us on camera when she visited our base of operations at Ocean Village. The interview will be up online soon.
YGTV met with the Minister For Culture, the Hon Minister Stephen Linares, talking to us about the Ocean Village, Diamond Jubilee Flotilla events.
The Flotilla has finished but the party is just getting started down at Ocean Village. With the return of all the boat crews, visitors, families and crew members are now settling down in Ocean Village for some food and drinks in the sun, taking the time to soak in the atmosphere and celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The sea legs seem to have settled quickly as throngs of people fill the bars and restaurants in Ocean Village and enjoy some red, white and blue fun.
