Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
National Day celebrates the referendum result 54 years ago, when Gibraltar voted by a landslide to remain British. Being in Main Street this morning, seeing all the flags and bunting, it is hard not to reflect on just how much history the United Kingdom and Gibraltar have shared and, importantly today, just how inseparable the UK and Gibraltar remain.
To mark the 80th anniversary of the RAF Benevolent Fund and the formation of the Air Training Corps, cadets at No. 2 Overseas (Gibraltar) Squadron joined their counterparts in the UK to take part in an effort to complete 80 miles in 80 days.
