The Deputy Leader of the GSD, Damon Bossino, gave a talk at the Casino Calpe on Thursday night at the invitation of the Club. He made a defence of Gibraltar’s party political system and argued that, although there were certain issues in respect of which there was consensus, it was nevertheless in the nature of politics that there is division as this forms a part of political debate.
The GSD have accepted the invitation by the SDGG to attend the National Day Rally once again. The party wishes to highlight the importance of solidarity ‘amongst all the people of Gibraltar on a day of national celebration at a time when our rights as a people are under particular threat.’
Daniel Feetham does note, however, that their attendance does not signify an abandonment of the party’s position that Gibraltar enjoys a maximum level of self-Government ‘short of independence and compatible with continued British sovereignty’.
The Government is introducing vaccination against meningitis C for students who are about to start university, as a means of protection against this disease.
The Gibraltar Socialist Labour Party has congratulated the GSLP/Liberal Government on reaching its 1,000th day in office.
