Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The Gibraltar-American Chamber of Commerce says it is delighted to announce its formal accreditation as a member of the US Chamber of Commerce. With only 116 members worldwide, the Gibraltar- American Chamber of Commerce is now a member of a very exclusive group. This status comes as the result of the support of the Government of Gibraltar and the local business community, in their dedication to building commercial and cultural ties with the United States.
The ESG says it wishes to take up an important issue raised during a recent GBC interview with Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Joseph Garcia regarding the expected completion date of the new power station.
The Government has noted with astonishment the expression of disappointment by the GSD over the new rules on legal aid published last week. The administration believes that the GSD ‘appear to fail to understand that these rules and the new rates have been agreed with the Bar Council as representatives of the legal profession.’
