Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
HM Customs, the Royal Gibraltar Police and the Gibraltar Fire and Rescue Service have wished all an enjoyable Christmas and New Year, and are reminding the public of the importance of behaving responsibly even when out having a good time. A joint statement released by the three forces stated, ‘During the festive season, celebrations may sometimes get out of hand and lead to unfortunate accidents.
The Gibtelecom Board met late last week to successfully complete the buy-back of Telekom Slovenije’s 50 per cent shareholding in the Company, by the Gibraltar Government. This followed the signing of a Share Purchase Agreement between the two parties on 17 November 2014.
Revealed during last night’s episode of Viewpoint, was a host of fresh results from a GBC commissioned ‘Pre-Election Opinion Poll’. The episode saw Chief Minister Fabian Picardo debate with Opposition Leader Daniel Feetham over a host of issues put to a sample of 650 voters.
