European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
Ahead of tomorrow’s Polling Day the Government is urging the general public to exercise their right to vote in the European Elections. The right to vote in European Parliamentary elections was ‘the result of a long political struggle followed by a lengthy legal battle. This culminated in the enfranchisement of Gibraltar through our inclusion in the South West of England constituency,’ claimed No.6 yesterday evening.
Reacting to the news that Bishop Heskett has been appointed Bishop of Hallam and will be leaving Gibraltar in the summer, the Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, said: "I have been touched by the news that Gibraltar's beloved Bishop Heskett will be leaving us shortly.
