The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”

The Government of Gibraltar welcomes the appointment of Mr Peter Montegriffo KC as Chairman of the Gibraltar Police Authority, and thanks the outgoing Chairman Dr Joey Britto for his service over two terms of Office.
His Excellency, Lieutenant General Sir Ben Bathurst KCVO, CBE has appointed Mr Peter C Montegriffo KC as the Chair of the Gibraltar Police Authority, acting on the advice of the Specified Appointments Commission, for a term of three years effective from 1 August 2024 on the expiry of the second term of office of Dr Joey Britto.
