European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
Joseph Chipolina of the Gibraltar Football Association this morning presented Chief Minister Fabian Picardo with his football shirt, to be framed and hung on the wall at Number 6 Convent Place. Joseph Chipolina scored the first ever goal during an official UEFA competition, at the futsal tournament carried out in Nice earlier this year.
Joseph expressed his pride and honour at presenting the Chief Minister with his shirt. He added that he hoped the future brought great success for the team, and more goals would be scored during official UEFA games.
The Mid Harbours Estate Committee has expressed their concern to the Government over the dilapidated conditions of the Government rental Estate. The Committee has taken the opportunity to circulate their concerns as they have received no response from the Government, on the matter.
The Committee notes that the Estate contains almost five hundred apartments, ‘most of which’ they add, ‘ are occupied by families of kindred spirit, with a desire to live in a clean and efficiently maintained environment’. They insist that Mid Harbours has become a haven for miscreants, including smugglers and purveyors of everything illegal.
Four men have been charged with public order offences following an investigation into a violent incident at licensed premises in Ocean Village. The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday the 13th April 2013.
1. Richard Lock, aged 29, a British Citizen, currently residing at Devil’s Tower Camp was charged with one count of Violent Disorder.
2. Kenneth Winbush, aged 25, a US Citizen, currently residing at Devil’s Tower Camp was charged with one count of Violent Disorder and one count of Criminal Damage.
3. Ernest JP Caetano, aged 30, a British Citizen, of Elliot House, Laguna Estate was charged with one count of Violent Disorder and one count of Criminal Damage.
Officers investigating a report of a man carrying what appeared to be a firearm on Friday 12th April in Moorish Castle Estate have charged a local 31 year old man and a 24 year old local woman.
Andrew John Guy, aged 31, was charged with one count of possession of a firearm, one count of possession of ammunition, one count of possession of a prohibited weapon and two counts of possession of a controlled drug.
