Sep 25 - Gibraltar Model Soldier Society Exhibition
The Gibraltar Model Soldier Society is holding an exhibition from Monday the 30th September to Friday the 4th October 2013 at the John Mackintosh Hall. There will be various toy and model figures, dioramas and collections on display during this week.
Sep 25 - Picardo Meets with Unite and Spanish Trade Unions
Chief Minister Fabian Picardo today met with representatives of the local Unite the Union branch, as well as members of Spain’s largest trade union Comisiones Obreras and UGT.
Mr. Picardo has been adamant in his insistence that cross border union cooperation is necessary for Gibraltar. During a recent conference hosted by Unite, covering the matter of Industrial Relations, Mr. Picardo insisted that they were looking into convincing un-registered cross border workers to register officially, as they would then benefit from laws protecting workers.
Sep 25 - Frontier Protests Ahead of EU Commission Inspection
With the EU Commission delegation arriving this morning ahead of today’s inspection of the Gibraltar Spain frontier and its border controls on each side, Spanish independent trade Union CSIF once again held a demonstration on the La Linea side of the border. The Union, which covers workers in the surrounding Campo de Gibraltar area, continued to protest the fact that Ayuntamiento workers are still owed several months of salary from the council.
