Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
Shadow Minister for Sports, Edwin Reyes, has today wished the best of luck to the Gibraltar Girls Under 18 Hockey Selection who are currently in Croatia, competing in the Nations Championships III. The team is set to play their first match today, against Lithuania.
At a reception held at Grand Battery House yesterday evening to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the opening of Bayside Comprehensive School, the Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, stressed that ‘the future of the school looked very bright indeed.’
'Standards keep going up and up and we are getting better and better,' said Mr Picardo.
In reply to the GSD’s most recent statement on the Sunborn Hotel, the Government has stated that ‘It is incredible that the Opposition should issue yet another statement on the Sunborn hotel only four days after they were heavily beaten in a by-election where they chose to make this a key campaign issue. They have clearly learnt nothing.’
The Government goes in to insist that the GSD need to understand that answers in Parliament will be given to questions that they ask, and not to the questions that they have not asked.
