European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
This year’s National Week Classical Concert will be held on Monday 1st September 2014 at St Michael’s Cave at 9pm. The Gibraltar Philharmonic Society, who organises this concert on behalf of the Gibraltar Government have been able to acquire the services of solo guitarist José María Gallardo del Rey, conductor Dorian Willson and The European Symphony Orchestra.
The whole of Gibraltar suffered another power cut at around 9:45 this morning. Power was slowly being restored to different areas an hour later but many shops on Main Street simply shut their doors as they were unable to serve customers. Electronics retailer Galaxy and BHS Home are just two of the businesses that ceased trading entirely during the blackout.
The Government welcomes the summoning to the Foreign Office of the Spanish Ambassador to the United Kingdom in order to protest about the actions of a Spanish naval vessel in the proximity of Gibraltar yesterday.
