Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.

On Wednesday 30 October an incident occurred in British Gibraltar Territorial Waters (BGTW) involving dangerous manoeuvring by a Spanish Guardia Civil boat. Following media reporting of the incident, this statement sets out the facts and the Government’s response.
His Excellency the Governor Sir Adrian Johns has said the following about a stamp issue commemorating the Ceremony of the Keys: ‘I am thrilled to have been accorded this extraordinary privilege, which came as a complete surprise. It is a great honour indeed and I’d like to thank everyone involved in making it happen.’
The Government has today published a Command Paper for a Bill to improve the protection given to trees in Gibraltar, fulfilling what it claims is another manifesto commitment. The Environmental Protection (Trees) Bill 2013 brings together and improves upon various legal instruments that were included in several Acts.
A graduation ceremony for the presentation of Diplomas, Degree in Nursing (Adult and Mental Health) and Foundation Degree in Paramedic Science will take place on Tuesday 5th November at the John Mackintosh Hall.
