Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The Gibraltar Disability Rights Federation (GDRF) says it “wholeheartedly supports” secure employment contracts for Health and Care Workers and an Independent Care Quality Commission to provide a better level of continuity of care for persons with disabilities and will therefore support Unite’s demonstration on Monday 10th January.
The Government has said that, in view of the much higher level of transmission of the Omicron variant of Covid-19, and on the advice of the Director of Public Health, the Department of Education is "strongly recommending" that children in secondary schools should wear masks while in school, including in classrooms as well as corridors and common areas.
