The Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia has said that although Gibraltar prefers a treaty to govern our relationship with the European Union, there are fundamental red lines which the Government is not prepared to cross in order to achieve it. Dr Garcia was speaking in Brighton today at the annual party conference of the U.K. Liberal Democrats.
It has emerged that the newly appointed Captain of the Port, Bob Sanguinetti, was “severely reprimanded” at a court martial after a Royal Navy frigate he was in charge of hit some rocks off the coast of Norway. The incident took place in September 2000 whilst HMS Grafton was navigating south of Oslo.
Following the resignation of Captain Roy Stanbrook, the Minister for the Port, Neil Costa, has announced the appointment of Bob Sanguinetti as the new Chief Executive of the Gibraltar Port Authority and Captain of the Port.
