The Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia has said that although Gibraltar prefers a treaty to govern our relationship with the European Union, there are fundamental red lines which the Government is not prepared to cross in order to achieve it. Dr Garcia was speaking in Brighton today at the annual party conference of the U.K. Liberal Democrats.

The Leader of the Opposition, Daniel Feetham, has today given notice of his intention to move a motion taking note of the decision of the European Parliament to exclude Gibraltar from the EU Single Sky II + Regulation and the attempt by Spain to renege on its obligations under the Cordoba Agreements, where she agreed to “cease to seek the suspension of Gibraltar Airport from any EU Aviation measure not yet adopted".
The UK's Foreign Secretary, William Hague, today attended a meeting of the EU Foreign Ministers in Brussels where sanctions were agreed on individuals from Russia and Crimea. Asset freezes and visa bans will be imposed on 21 people associated with the decisions that Russia has made about Crimea, including members of the armed forces and in the Parliament.
New to Gibraltar’s Summer events line up is the ‘Love Festival’, promising live performances that will appeal to a wide selection of Gibraltar’s community. The event will be held on 15th June as from 3:30pm at the open air Bayside Sports Complex.
Confirmed performances thus far include British reggae stars ASWAD, former X Factor runner up Rebecca Ferguson, the lead singer of German Reggae pop band R.I.O, resident singer at Ibiza’s legendary Privilege, Nalaya Brown and locally bred acoustic singer songwriter Guy Valarino.
