European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
Following the inclusion of Winston Churchill Avenue as a Blue Zone under the Tobacco Act a total of eight persons were arrested by the RGP on Thursday 6th February 2014 for failing to leave the Blue Zone, at Winston Churchill Avenue, when instructed to do so by a Police Officer. Seven of these persons were Spanish nationals and one was a Rumanian national. One individual was also arrested for Resisting Police.

Marking the 62nd anniversary of the Queen’s succession to the throne, the Royal Gibraltar Regiment carried out an immaculate gun salute at Grand Battery house yesterday afternoon.
The event was particularly poignant for Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Dennis Duarte OBE who carried out his final official ceremony as Honorary Colonel of the Regiment, before he steps down in May following five years of service in this position.
