The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
The Dolphins Youth Club was busy over the summer months with various, well-attended, local activities. Young persons actively involved in club events throughout the year saw their hard work and dedication rewarded in the form of various fun events and trips.
One of these events was the Dolphin Youth Club’s annual BBQ, which was held in July. This year, the Dolphin Youth Club invited young people from the Youth Centre, providing a chance for the members of the different clubs to socialise with each other in a relaxed atmosphere. The invitation was reciprocated a few weeks later at the Youth Centre’s annual BBQ.
With the intention of keeping members of the public regularly informed on the progress of the Dr Giraldi Home enquiry, a statement released today touched upon the inquiry’s current stage, including the process of contacting witnesses who may have evidence of assistance to the inquiry. Relevant authorities have also been contacted for statements. Witnesses at the main hearing will include Government ministers and representatives from the management of the Dr Giraldi Home, the Care Agency, the Royal Gibraltar Police and the Attorney General’s Chambers.
The Opposition, over the last eight weeks. has ‘instituted a deliberate policy to say as little as possible on the current crisis with Spain to give the Government the political space to resolve that crisis’. They also claim that they have not engaged the Government in any intense political battles on domestic issues as they did formally on the Sunborn and Gibraltar Savings Bank.
The RGP’s on-going ‘Operation Roadwatch’ enforcement operations endeavour to make Gibraltar’s roads safer through education, awareness and enforcement. The aim is to reduce the number of serious traffic accidents. Road safety is everyone’s concern and the responsibility of all road users.
