Following local reports claiming that Barclays Bank is set to carry out a review of their Gibraltar branch, the Government has said that they were briefed yesterday on the circumstances behind the review of the business in Gibraltar and across the European operations of the Bank, as announced in the conclusions of its Strategic Review on the 12th February.
In December 2012 a report of a residential burglary was made to police where it was alleged that approximately £70,000 worth of jewellery was stolen.
The actual burglary occurred over a period of four months whilst the said flat was being refurbished.
On Saturday morning at around 11 am a small fire broke out within one of the Rotisserie machines in take away Cornwall’s Chickens. The blaze spread to the extractor and following a quick response from the staff, the City Fire Brigade were called. Two Fire Appliances went sent to the area. The fire was kept under control and then put out.
