Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The GSLA Sports and Leisure Summer Scheme’s Stay and Play Programme today concluded with an hour long show for parents and carers of attendees to see the skills and abilities that have been learnt throughout the programme.
According to GBC, two civil servants have been arrested at Number 6 Convent Place. GBC says that this was confirmed after the broadcaster asked the Government whether it would comment on reports that two security guards had been recorded by CCTV allegedly taking drugs on the premises.
Following representations received from the industry, including a request from the Association of Trust and Company Managers (ATCOM), the Government has agreed to extend the date for commencement of the Companies Act to 1 November of this year. The Insolvency Act (together with related regulations) will also be commenced on 1 November. This will ensure that there is a smooth transition regarding the practicalities associated with the new pieces of legislation.
The ninth edition of the Gibraltar Beer Festival takes place this evening at 7pm at the Bayside Sports Complex. A selection of beers and ciders will be available. There will also be a BBQ and live music will be provided by local bands The Trio and Jetstream.
