Nov 06 - Poetry Competition First Prize for Rebecca Faller
This year’s annual poetry competition, organised by the Ministry of Culture, in conjunction with the Gibraltar Chronicle and the Department of Education attracted 137 entries, many of which, adjudicator Charles Durante insisted were worthy of attention and were crying out for recognition. He noted that he would have liked to have rewarded many more poems.
Nov 06 - GSD Calls for Clarity on Nature Protection Act Amendment
In a statement on the effect of the recent amendments made by the Government to the Nature Protection Act, the GSD has called upon the Chief Minister to state publicly whether members of the La Linea and Algeciras fishing associations will have to apply for a licence in Gibraltar, or if they will be allowed to fish by virtue of their existing membership of their ‘Cofradias’.
Nov 06 - Masters of Illusion Returns in December
This December will see a new International show hosted by Masters of Illusion. The fifth edition of the annual event will see World Champion of magic, Norbert Ferre headline the performance with ‘with a great mix of magic and an all star cast you won’t even want to blink all night’. Five performances will be held at the Ince’s Hall, with tickets starting from £10.
Nov 06 - Government Extends Nature Reserve Boundary
The Government has extended the boundary of the Upper Rock Nature Reserve to coincide more closely with that of the Rock of Gibraltar Special Area of Conservation (SAC) designated under the EU Habitats Directive.
