European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
Following the arrest in March of this year of a forty year old male RGP police officer on suspicion of Theft and Misfeasance in Public Office, officers of the Royal Gibraltar Police’s Serious Crime Unit have today charged Joseph Macedo, of Vineyards, with two counts of Misfeasance in Public Office and two counts of Theft.
In a continuing Criminal Investigation Department inquiry, regarding the recent shooting incident at Europa Point, RGP officers yesterday arrested Mark Galia of 9 Sea Daffodil House, Waterport Terraces, on suspicion of Fraud by False Representation.
As part of a Government manifesto commitment on beach restoration, an Inter-ministerial committee comprised of Tourism Minister Neil Costa, Technical Services Minister Paul Balban, and Environmental Minister Dr. John Cortes, yesterday announced the commencement of works to be carried out at Sandy Bay.
Sandy Bay lost a significant amount of beach area in recent years due to storms, so in order to make the beach useable once more, works to build two adjacent, curved groynes will commence in the coming weeks.
